THE SHORT ANSWER

A Korean address and a short request are often clearer than a long explanation. These are original Koreapin travel phrases; use the National Institute of Korean Language dictionary for pronunciation and word meanings.

Directions and transport

KoreanEnglish meaning
이 주소로 가 주세요.Please take me to this address.
이 열차가 서울역에 가나요?Does this train go to Seoul Station?
엘리베이터는 어디에 있나요?Where is the elevator?
여기에서 내려도 되나요?Can I get off here?

Ordering and payment

KoreanEnglish meaning
이 카드로 결제할 수 있나요?Can I pay with this card?
총금액이 얼마인가요?What is the total price?
영수증 주세요.Please give me a receipt.
포장해 주세요.Please make it takeaway.

Family and food requests

The allergy phrase is an example. Prepare a separate translated card naming your actual allergy and cross-contact concern, then confirm with the restaurant. Omitting one ingredient does not establish that preparation is safe.

KoreanEnglish meaning
유아 의자가 있나요?Do you have a high chair?
기저귀 교환대가 어디에 있나요?Where is the changing table?
이 음식에 땅콩이 들어 있나요?Does this dish contain peanuts?
천천히 말씀해 주세요.Please speak slowly.

Confirm what was understood

Show the destination’s Korean name and address together, and write the month, day and time in numbers. Pair words such as “here” and “tomorrow” with a map pin and an actual date.

Save written confirmation for prices, cancellation terms and pickup locations. In an emergency, do not spend time selecting a phrase: call the number in the emergency guide and request interpretation.

A few good questions

Can I use this without reading Korean?

Show the Korean sentence on screen and use the English meaning to confirm the request. Write the address, group size and time separately.

Why is there no pronunciation spelling?

Showing written Korean can be clearer than reading an unfamiliar romanization. Use the official dictionary’s audio to practise pronunciation.

Is this table enough for a food allergy?

No. Explain and confirm your specific allergy and cross-contact requirements separately. The example is not a medical assessment or a safety guarantee.
