THE SHORT ANSWER

In winter, connect an indoor base with nearby outdoor stops and allow extra transfer time. Korea Tourism Organization describes winter as December–February, but snow, ice and event dates need local, date-specific checks.

Check snow and temperature separately

A winter visit does not guarantee snow. Coastal and mountain areas, and day and night, can differ; check your city forecast and alerts along the route separately. Surfaces can be slippery even without visible snow.

This page does not certify a winter mountain route or current road access. Before adding a mountain visit, check the managing agency’s daily restrictions, equipment and booking requirements.

Winter events and transport bookings

Use past light- or snow-festival features only as destination ideas. Dates, operation and reservations for winter 2026–2027 are not confirmed here before that season’s organizer notice is verified.

If driving, confirm winter equipment and its conditions with the rental operator and check road status. Keep rail, flight and lodging rules for changes or refunds if a delay makes you miss a connection.

Avoid adding a distant mountain or coast stop at the end of a flight day. Account separately for rental return, shuttle and airport formalities.

Cold-weather outings with children

With a baby, consider feeding, changing and clothing adjustments indoors before a short outing. Check not only where a facility is, but whether it is open that day and whether it is behind security.

Pack gloves, spare clothes and a way to carry wet items, keeping meals and rest stops close. If a stroller route crosses icy ground, shorten the plan instead of forcing the route.

City family guides provide the detailed facility locations and unresolved access conditions for the Seoul museum, Jeju Airport and Ojukheon.

A few good questions

Is snow guaranteed in Seoul or Busan in winter?

No. The season and actual snowfall are different. Check the date and area forecast and keep a route that works without snow.

Can I use last winter’s festival dates to book this year?

No. Recheck the event year, operating dates and booking rules in the notice for the relevant season.

Do I need to combine all six cities in one winter trip?

No. Choose one or two bases with time for transfers and delays, alternating indoor and outdoor stops within each area.
