T-money pays fares per journey, while a short-term Climate Card is a pass for defined coverage and dates. Compare WOWPASS’s payment and exchange features separately from its transport function; it is not an independent unlimited transit pass.
What each product is for

Start with short-term pass coverage
Seoul’s guidance effective October 1, 2026 describes Seoul subways, Seoul-licensed city and village buses, and alighting at Incheon Airport T1 or T2. Boarding at the airport is not equivalent. Check exclusions such as the Sinbundang Line, GTX and airport buses.
The official page also records the end of 30-day prepaid recharges while retaining short-term passes. Do not apply an old trip report’s 30-day rules; check the current short-term product and actual stations for your trip.
How to compare total cost
Add expected fares for the whole itinerary on the T-money side. On the pass side, add the pass price, a new card if needed and fares for excluded sections. Do not charge yourself for purchasing a card you already own.
Family members may have different age-based fares and journeys, so do not simply multiply one adult result. Unknown sections are not assumed covered and are shown separately in the transit tool.
Check payment balance and transport functions
KTO identifies WOWPASS as a foreigner-exclusive card and states that a passport is required to buy it. South Korean nationals should compare alternatives such as standard T-money instead of treating WOWPASS as a universally issuable transit card. Both languages show the same eligibility conditions.
WOWPASS presents payment-balance management and transport-card balance checks or top-ups as separate features. Confirm which balance the app shows and read the current top-up methods, issuance documents and refund terms before purchase.
Count a discount or cashback only if you will use it and have checked the brand, period and minimum spend. Your Koreapin language setting does not determine card eligibility.

A few good questions
Does buying WOWPASS make subway travel unlimited?
No. Payment and exchange services are separate from paying transit fares. Unlimited travel requires a qualifying pass and its coverage conditions.
Should I include Busan rides in the Seoul pass calculation?
Include them in the trip budget, but not as rides covered by the Seoul pass. Calculate Busan journeys using the local fare rules.
Should I choose only the cheapest card?
First check that the products provide the same functions. Compare fares, issuance, exchange and top-up costs, refunds and eligibility together.
