Plan Seoul around one or two neighborhoods each day, joining them by subway and walking. Start with Gyeongbokgung and Gwanghwamun; on day two choose a museum or a riverside outing.

For Incheon or Gimpo, enter the terminal, destination, party and luggage in the airport tool first. Reaching Seoul Station does not mean reaching your hotel; include station navigation and the final subway or walking leg.
Gyeongbokgung can be approached from Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3 or Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5. With a stroller, check the elevator route before choosing the nearest numbered exit.
Choose your neighborhood cluster
| Area | What to combine | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Gwanghwamun · Gyeongbokgung | Palace visit and a nearby meal | Check palace closure and last entry first |
| Myeongdong · city center | Arrival-day food, shopping and a short walk | Check the hotel entrance and luggage walking distance |
| Yongsan · Ichon | An indoor day anchored by the National Museum | Check separate Children’s Museum entry conditions |
A day trip or one-night route
These are KoreaPin planning suggestions, not bookable tours or guaranteed schedules. Adjust them to transport, closures and weather on your travel date.
- Day trip: Gyeongbokgung → lunch → a walk around Gwanghwamun. Head toward your station or hotel for dinner. Give one palace time instead of stacking several palace visits.
- One night: follow the day route first, then visit the National Museum, eat near Ichon and depart on day two. In clear weather, replace part of the indoor visit with a short outdoor walk.
- Gyeongbokgung normally closes on Tuesdays, with a substitute closure rule when holidays overlap. Night and special visits need their own notices rather than the standard daytime schedule.

Where to stay and what the price includes
Compare Seoul Station or Myeongdong for airport connections and central sightseeing, and Jongno or Gwanghwamun for palace-focused days. Use the actual entrance and transfer count, not a hotel’s claim to be near a station.
Prices depend on dates, room and party size. Confirm the final total, extra bedding, child age rules, cancellation deadline and parking before payment. KoreaPin does not provide live availability or lowest-price claims.
Autumn, winter and event checks
For autumn, combine a palace with city walks. For winter, alternate short outdoor stretches and indoor exhibits. Foliage peaks and snow are not guaranteed; check the forecast before leaving.
Seasonal scenery does not confirm an event. This page does not certify dates, prices or bookings for an individual 2026 festival. Check the event year and organizer notice, then compare booking conditions in the festivals guide.
With children
The National Museum lists a nursing room and stroller loan desk on the first floor of the permanent exhibition building. The Seoul family guide explains locations and conditions. A palace stroller-loan listing does not mean every palace path is step-free.

A few good questions
Do I need a rental car in Seoul?
Not for the central route in this guide. If you drive, compare hotel and attraction parking costs and entry conditions alongside travel time.
When is Gyeongbokgung closed?
Tuesday is the regular closure day. Holiday overlaps can change the closure date, so check the official notice for your visit.
Does English show a different itinerary for international visitors?
No. Both languages show the same route, tables and sources. Nationality or age conditions are explained separately when relevant.
